I will work on an DataArray/image schema that goes with the PNG image link example

I modified the schema and provided an example in this branch:
https://github.com/opengeospatial/ogcapi-connected-systems/tree/101_result_link_schema

I went with the simple option of not providing a SWE common schema at all when results are out-of-band.
