Trying to get shimmer to run on a VM natively. Unable to get the right package combo and steps

Trying to built and run natively.
sudo apt-get install npm

Add to .bashrc

sudo npm install -g grunt-cli

Mongodb install from here

Npm install

1. npm install -g grunt-cli
2. npm init
   fill all details and it will create a package.json file.
3. npm install grunt (for grunt dependencies.)
