We recently purchased a Lumen V4 Order #2561 to replace my Frankenstein PnP I've cobbled together as we need to start building more than just 2-3 boards at a time and need something I'm not constantly fussing with and need something other than strip feeders.
Initially I used OpenPnP but found it "less-than user friendly" (or maybe I'm just not that patient) and wanted a cool challenge with machine vision and control so I wrote my own app that I'm going to try to adapt to your product. I also used it to mill boards on my CNC machine. This product has the basis of what I want to build for parts/job management at an organization level
Anyway...as we try to start scaling up production we seem to be having a growing number of boards we want to create and customize. As part of this and my previous experience I want to create a very streamlined way of creating new custom boards where setup time isn't a killer. Our companies primary product is an IoT development application but by necessity (and desire) I needed to dust off my EE skills and decided we need to build some purpose built boards for our customers. As part of this we define the devices in our product and want to start capturing their BOM as well.
Also as part of this and where maybe it makes sense to collaborate is that I want to have the ability to create a standardized parts library we use to design our boards (we currently use Fusion360 but not sure that maters too much). That standardized part library would then reference parts we have on our shelf (or in a feeder) as well as costs, datasheets and so on. This will make it easy to produce BOM's with cost estimates.
I want to be able to track different variants/flavors of the boards as assembled and keep a list of those with serial numbers with each board. One of the primary intents here is to spin up a custom PnP jobs to really reduce the job setup time to a minimum as well as try to minimize the different components we use across all our boards
Our companies product is mostly open source and the module I'm working on would fall under that category.
