This proposal seeks to transition DCDAO’s default governance tool from Snapshot to Tally, with Snapshot retained as a secondary option for certain scenarios. 1. Enhanced Automation and Decentralization

   • On-Chain Governance with Tally: Unlike Snapshot, which primarily relies on social consensus and often requires manual execution by the team, Tally operates on-chain using smart contracts. This allows for a more automated and decentralized governance process. Although some proposals will always necessitate additional execution steps, increasing the level of automation and decentralization within our governance framework is highly beneficial.

2. Snapshot Retention for Flexibility

   • Snapshot as a Backup and Temperature Check Tool: While Tally will become the primary governance tool, Snapshot will still be retained as a secondary option. This ensures flexibility, as some community and DAO activities may still prefer or require Snapshot for preliminary temperature checks or specific types of proposals.

3. Improving Member Engagement and Best Practices

   • Learning and Participation: Transitioning to Tally provides an opportunity for DCDAO members to learn and engage with a broader range of DAO tools and best practices. Tally supports delegation, which can increase governance participation rates. Notably, platforms like Uniswap and Arbitrum also utilize Tally, reflecting its robustness and popularity within the DAO ecosystem.
