Best player for Raspberry Pi? Any suggestions?

Hi,

I currently have two rapsberry pis 3b with a snapclient streaming form Spotify via MA. And every 20 minutes or so, the stream stops and I have to stop / play the track. I have the latest beta of MA running. This fixed the issue with a never ending track. But the stream still stops in the middle of the track.

Are there any suggestions for a reliably player to use on a raspberry pi?

Not sure why the stream would stop, that isn’t normal. But try picoreplayer and see how that goes.

I installed the PiCorePlayer. I'll give feedback after the next weekend. Right now it's not in use....

Check out Shairport-sync which turns a Linux/BSD host into a AIrPlay (2) target. I have RPi 3b's in two rooms, connected via the headphones jack to decent speakers and I'm really happy with the sound quality. Music Assistant discovers them as AIrplay targets and can use them. In addition you can use them to stram music from an iOS device. Poor man's Apple HomePod.
