Symlink creation behavior difference in two different servers

Hi,

I am currently re-organizing my workspaces, and I find a weird difference between the two systems I am doing my work on. They are both running different version of the same OS, not sure if that is the main cause of the difference here.

My personal workstation is running Ubuntu 23.10

I get a symlink of python to python3.10 which is missing in my workstation, ideally I want that symlink, but I am not sure why I can't reproduce it in my workstation. I uninstalled and reinstalled pyenv but I still get the same behavior as of now. How do I find out what caused the difference?

Please create an issue and provide the necessary diagnostic information as per the issue template on the installation process of the faulty version.
The python -> pythonX.Y symlink is created at a late stage of the installation process, and something must be going wrong at that point.

i need to check again if this works with my wsl environment next

hmm, i tested my wsl running Ubuntu 23.10 (same as my workstation), I am getting the python to python3.10 symlink ): i resetted the .profile and .bashrc in all 3 environments

I think I have found the problem, something is wrong with my setup right now, just got it fixed
