<h3>Apomu is a popular and one of the largest ancient markets in the Old Oyo Kingdom.
In the past, it was regularly ravaged during wars.
Nowadays, it is peaceful and serene town with abundant organic food, rich culture and tradition</h3>

<p id="desc">Apomu has tens of villages and hundreds of hamlets with nice looking and hospitable people. Importantly, each of these villages have at least one
or more gentle-flowing streams with naturally clean water. In addition to Osun river, there are other relatively smaller rivers
that tourists will enjoy visiting and fishing from. The riverview is populated with beautiful damsels selling freshly caught and processed fishes
of different varieties.

<h4 class="fact-title">Founders: Iya Olomu and Hunters</h4>
<p>Historically, Apomu was founded around 16th or 17th century by a prince from Oyo. The prince's wife sells a
soup delicacy made from beans, called "Omu" or what's nowadays called "Gbegiri". The woman used to mix the Omu in a big pot.
The mixing of omu which literally translates to "a po omu" (i.e. the one who mixes omu) serves as the origin of the name Apomu.
The image above shows the iya olomu and the hunters. The statue can be seen at the centre of the Apomu.

<h4 class="fact-title">Coronation of Alapomu, Oba Kayode</h4>
<p>There are conventional and traditional governance in Apomu. Conventionally, Apomu serves as the headquarters of Isokan Local Government.
Traditional ruling class controls most of the social and cultural aspects of the town. The current traditional ruler, HRM Oba Kayode Adenekan Afolabi II was recently
coronated by the paramount First Class Oba of Yoruba land, Ooni of Ife. The coronation was also attended by the late Oba Alaafin of Oyo.</p>

<h4 class="fact-title">Celebration of school children</h4>
<p>The Apomu queen, Olori Janet Afolabi leads effort to support and motivate the school children. The effort is aimed at maintaining
a good conduct and generosity for which Apomu people are reputed for. Tourists are encouraged visit the Palace and interact with the traditional elders.
There's also a council of youths, called Apomu Council of Youths (ACOY). The group comprises top echelon of educated youths who support the growth of the town
especially in the area of tourism and education.
