I can create a pact and publish it but having trouble verifying it.

Any help is appreciated.

Hey!

Does the server that you are starting, have data for id 1, its returning a 404

it now, you will want a state handler, for given a product with id exists (ideally as a state parameter) and you can use this on your provider side to ensure you have the specific id resource setup for the test

or just ensure your provider repository has a product with id:1 to test it out quickly

Thanks for looking into this.

I've done a rewrite as I want to verify against the broker not locally but getting the same result.

the providerBaseUrl should be against your provider codebase running locally, not the remote pact broker.
the pactUrls should be a path to a remote file from a pact broker (a URL to the pact), if you want to retrieve a pact from a broker, in your current code you are pointing to a local file

the 401 is correct, as Pact is trying to send the consumers requests to your pact broker (which won't honour the requests in your contract, unless it tested the pact brokers API), and even if it did, it would fail, as there are no authentication credentials provided.

pactBrokerToken would be your PactFlow token, it would be advisable to get this from an env var,

sorry I do actually see you have provided the pactBrokerToken.

The pactUrls here which would be a url to the broker, would tell the verifier where to look for the pact (it contains the broker url in the path.

the providerBaseUrl will point to your running provider (whether you start it in your test or outside is up to you

the pactBrokerToken is required if your broker is authenticated (pactBrokerUsername,pactBrokerPassword if using an OSS broker)
