Bo and Luke Duke were really the only television characters that
I ever tried to emulate. Well, there was the Fonz too, but that
was later. I wanted to dress like Bo and Luke, and even my code
name was "Bo", in case I ever got kidnapped (long story).
I had the car, a Hot Wheels thingy (picture at the top of this page),
the action figures, everything. I still enjoy the Dukes, but not
quite as much as I did then.</font></td>

I began taking from Miss Hatchell, my church's pianist and the school's
third grade teacher. I took lessons from her for five years. It
was also around this time that I became friends with Mike Lewis.
My mom was tutoring him at the time, and we would talk and stuff
when she would give him a ride home. We also lived in the same neighborhood,
so that worked out well. We've been best friends ever since then.</font></td>

It was in seventh grade when I became friends with Derrick Hoeben,
and in eighth grade he and Mike and I all became best friends. From
then on, we'd do pretty much everything together.</font></td>

I was entering the ninth grade, and finally I was in high school.
Still, graduation seemed far away. It was also around this time
that I had to choose between music and sports. I had played baseball
ever since I was seven, but now it was interfering with my piano
lessons. I had to choose between the two, and I chose music. I realized
that I would be able to play music for the rest of my life, but
there would soon come a time when I wouldn't be able to play sports
any more. I believe I made the right decision. I had now begun taking
lessons from Karen Bazen, who has been a great inspiration to me.</font></td>

how close I was now to finally graduating from high school. It was
like all those years of school work were finally going to count
for something. Then all of a sudden graduation night was upon us.
I walked across that platform, received my diploma, and there I
was, a high school graduate. It was a pretty cool feeling, but as
it sank in, eventually life got back normal and I started looking
ahead to what I was going to do with the rest of my life. </font></td>
