New issue I have recently encountered with Cosmic when it falls asleep with the monitor closed.

How to reproduce:

  1. Open your Cosmic session with a regular 1080p monitor.
  2. Close the monitor and leave for a few hours (go to work or something), letting Cosmic go to sleep by itself.
  3. Come back, open the monitor. Now the Cosmic Greeter and your session are stuck at 2160p.
  4. Restart the PC to fix the problem.
  5. It does not fix the issue; now the decryption screen is in 480p, and the Cosmic Greeter and your session are still stuck at 2160p.

How to fix:

Shut down completely and turn it back on.

Might be related to ongoing work to fix #1012

I use Pop!_OS with cosmic greeter.
