I was helping someone install kvm virtual machines to an Ubuntu box and they mentioned that it was too difficult getting all the necessary libraries, packages, and user groups configured correctly, which I agree, it could and probably should be a lot easier to get that all set up.
What comes to mind for me is the tools to add and remove features from Windows, the one that enables WSL (Reference). I think Pop should have something similar that is part of either the settings, store, or both that would facilitate installing and setting up different common applications or programs. It would also be cool to be able to use that tool in the the tutorials over on support.system76.com.
I'm not sure how the details would be worked out, but I imagine the app might work with the different features or scripts being created and vetted by s76 or maybe community made instead if that would be too much work for the s76 devs and it's just reviewed before being pushed in a git repo.
