Some problems with use

Thank you for your excellent work.

I like using R in RStudio. Now I am trying to use Positron. I have some questions and would like to hear your suggestions.

1. I write code for statistical analysis. So, once I have written hundreds of lines of code, I will fold it up and run it all at once, then output the results. Therefore, I am used to using ## #### to fold the code.
   In Positron, I know the following method can fold the code. But I need to write the word region every time. It is not as concise as ## ####.

# endregion

My question is, maybe because I am not familiar with this software, are there other ways to fold a large amount of code besides # region/# endregion? For example, similar to RStudio's ## #### or others.

2.Variable names without dataframe$ in front of them are identified as problems and are marked with wavy lines (problem message: No symbol named 'xxx in scope.). I am used to using datatable, so there are hundreds of "problems" coming out. I wonder if I can turn off such reminders. This problem reminder can help me find incorrectly entered variable names, but if the correct variable names are also reported , it is difficult to tell which one is the real problem.

3. The plot window in RStudio has a zoom button that pops up a separate plot window. The separate window is larger and easier to read (I have a small computer screen, so I like to see the plot in a separate window). I don't see a similar pop-up window in Position. Am I missing something?

4. The output in the RStudio console has clear color distinctions. For example, the color of the input code and the calculated result are different. But they are the same in Position. Is it a problem with my settings?

I believe the input and output color distinction when sending commands to the console is already under the Positron teams radar, I brought up an issue here #5115 about it and they seem to be aware of this request from data peeps

With regard to question 1 (foldable comments), I wrote a PR in posit-dev/ark#615. Is this what you're looking for? However, the PR has not been merged yet. If you urgently need this functionality, feel free to download my fork of ark and replace the binary in the positron-r extension.

• We are tracking that data.table problem in "No symbol in scope" diagnostics with data.table #5271, if you would like to add any additional info.
• I want to highlight that popping your plot out into a new tab works now, but you just need opt into the new feature as discussed in Introducing Viewing Plots in Editors! #5073.
