The Jenkins Prometheus plugin (https://github.com/jenkinsci/prometheus-plugin) gets infrequent updates and frequently has bugs and integration issues.

I just returned from KubeCon, and it's clear that Jenkins is widely used by many as their CI/CD solution.

As of this writing, the latest version of the Jenkins Plugin (2.0.6) crashes on many installations, and in spite of multiple requests to the maintainer, there has been no resonse.

We can do better.
