How to specific variables from dataframe for modelling?

Dear all,

As we know there are four things in Causal Modelling:-

1. X -> Control Vectors
2. Y -> Target Variable
3. T -> Feature of interest
4. W -> Confounders

Y can be observed by predictable variable so I know about it but for others I am little bit confused.
Can anybody please guide me over here?

I have read the chapter 2 of this book. Just have one doubt there is no formula kind of thing for making assumptions. Model will automatically generated itself right?

Just like a linear regression having some assumptions like linearity, no auto correlations etc right?

And one more thing this chapter this kind of theory so how can I select these variables written above is not mentioned?
