🎉 https://queerjs.com/stockholm/ 🎉 Can we announce you? :) |
Yep! I'm excited! See you then! |
Hey hey @shushugah, I just saw your message on Discord 😞 Totally understand, but selfishly sad because your topic is very cool/important. We hope to have you speak at a QueerJS soon 💜 Would you like us to keep this issue open/on the waitlist for a future event or rather close it for now? |
I was really bummed as well! Do add me to a waitlist for a future event! |
Hey again 👋 Just wanted to let you know that we announced two more European events in case you're interested in speaking at either of those! We could help with flights. Paris - December 3, 2019 - queerjs.com/paris There will be more European events in 2020 (as of now there's talk of Cologne, Helsinki, Bochum, Berlin, etc) so no pressure! Thought I'd share in case 😊 |
Register me for Munich! |
Sorry for my delay but yay!!! Adding you to the website now 🎸 |
⭐️ https://queerjs.com/munich ⭐️ So far it's a Berlin takeover I love it 😂 Looking forward to it! Let us know if you need any assistance with train tickets 😊 |
Hello again @shushugah! Writing with some grim news. We've been talking a lot within the QueerJS team about the spread of COVID-19. As a result, we've unfortunately decided to cancel many of our upcoming events, including the one in Munich 😞 We really appreciate you wanting to speak and I'm personally bummed I won't be able to hear it yet. If you already purchased any train tickets or other transit-related things for coming to the event, you can still expense it via our Open Collective. Let me know if you want me to keep this issue open! We're hoping to be able to continue events as soon as it becomes safe again. |
Talk title
Queer History of Resistance in Computing
Abstract
This talk will highlight well known and lesser-known queer people's contributions (and opposition!) to computing.
Stockholm historically is home to some of the earliest labour movements, yet, one industry is prominently missing, the tech industry. Queer people need to protect each other and we can do so, through collective action. I will also share some of my experiences organising with Tech Workers Coalition Berlin 💪🏿💪🏾💪🏽💪🏼
(can also be done as a longer talk)
Your name
Yonatan Miller
Location
I am based in Berlin, hoping to speak in Stockholm.
