Man, finding good content is time consuming. Let's crowd-source it! Here's the simple version:

  1. have "suggest content" link to google form in our app
  2. google form requests info like title, text, media, references, and content license as well as how it fits into the game - i.e. is this a new telescope or mining unit, historical blurb, science factoid, etc? What is it's tech-level? If it's a unit, what is it's cost?
  3. devs review and pull in data easily to create new content tile

Advanced features for later:

  1. users get rewarded for good submissions
  2. content tiles can be generated automatically from collected data
  3. crowd-sourced content review process allows users to help with that too!
  4. automated content reviewer IDs duplicates, invalid submissions, and pr0n.

I wonder if having upvote/downvote style buttons "feasible/impossible" would allow us to crowd-source the estimation of technology readiness...

This is a pretty outdated enhancement suggestion, but the concept is still very relevant. Now I'm wondering:

Can this be linked with existing, free CMS systems? (eg Reddit) Can it be packaged as a feature of the Cosmosium engine?

If we can skirt the database stuff here, it should net us lots of bang for relatively little dev.
