Kludges for Gimp dialogs suggestions needed #361

No dialogs (such as Open... etc.) appear on screen (perhaps I see some "flickering" or something but I am not sure of what this is artifact of) on empty workspace layout. I tried literally all defwinprop hacks for Gimp I could find on the Internet for class Gimp (floating, acrobatic etc.). Nothing helped. I am currently on Fedora 36, X.Org. I also suspect other GTK applications may have the same issue although I haven't tried any other (I mostly stay in terminals). In tiled layout it somewhat works but I would like Gimp to choose what to do about it's window when in empty (floating) layout. Can you share some kludges to fix it? Thank you.

There's an easy way to fix this in gimp.
gimp
I know that's not exactly what you asked for but it makes it not go crazy.
