Before we had a simple melee disarm system. One whack and bam, you had them disarmed. Now, its a pain in the ass because you can easily break the damn thing by moving one step. One step resets the whole disarm process and you are forced to kill them, loosing karma in the process. So you have a choice of either letting them go free/shoot you down as they pick up a gun, or shoot them and loose karma. This whole system wasnt thought out well at all.

Maybe slowing down the target when disarming is a option. Agreed.
