I'm trying to improve the experience of those interested in trying new beta/alpha versions.
For this reason, new betas will be available through automatic update, clicking this button

The update from a STABLE to a BETA will be offered only if you are already using a beta, or if you enable this option

Past version (0.46 and below) don't know about this new option, so will just offer you to update to the beta.

If betas are available, you will be offered all of them, so you can easily switch also to a previous one.
