I deleted the history file, remove the logs and wiped everything from flickr.
My config has the following:
only_sub_sets = false
full_folder_tags = true

I go to upload 4 pictures in 2 different directories.
./archive1/Quebec City, Sept 2005:
IMG_7876.JPG IMG_7877.JPG
./archive1/Sterwart Park, Perth:
IMG_7872.JPG IMG_7873.JPG

I get the following script output:
using uploadr.ini file "/root/folders2flickr/uploadr.ini"

Were the sets created in flickr? I guess not (or you wouldn't report the issue!) but the log is a bit inconclusive - ERROR on the one hand then "added" later. I'll see if I can reproduce the problem. Maybe the "," in the set name is annoying it somehow.

Yes they were created in Flickr. Two for the quebec City and one for the Perth.
I deleted everything (history file, and all the logs) and removed everything from flickr again and reran.

This time no error, but once again two entries for Quebec City and one for Perth.

Looking in Flickr, I just have the three sets, but I'm expecting just the two.

Any idea why I get three sets created when I should only have the two? The Quebec City set gets created twice.

It creates some sets multiple times

in this log http://paste.ubuntu.com/9477776/

you can see that it creates the following sets multiple times
"AGM 2005"
"BBQ 3rd june 07"

I have done a little bit of investigation:

  • grabNewImages only returns the photos once
  • it only uploads the photos once
  • only the set itself is created twice
