- Step 1. Download the ISO image from the CentOS website. We will find the ISO in: https://www.centos.org/download/
- Step 2: Once the ISO is downloaded, mount it and boot from the ISO.
- Step 3: Click on Install CentOS Linux 8
- Step 4: Click on the Centos Linux 8 option
- Step 5: Select the language for our linux
- Step 6: In the installation menu change the date and time, select the software to install, disk partitioning, network configuration and security policies.
- Step 7: Configure the network, select the hostname and configure the IP of the network card. Either by DHCP or by assigning a static IP.
- Step 8: Partition the disk according to your needs.
- Step 9: In the software selection select both the additional software and the version to install. That is, server with graphical environment, server in console mode, workstation, virtualization mode (hypervisor), etc...
- Step 10: Once everything is configured, click on Begin Installation
- Step 11: Select a password for root and create users.
- Step 12: Once the installation is finished, click on Reboot
Finally: When it restarts, the server the server will have CentOS 8 installed and ready.
