Queries such as

//node[node[@cat="np"]/@begin = node[@cat="np"]/@end ]

do not work with the Berkeley DB XML backend. This seems to be a bug in DB XML, since this query evaluates fine using XQilla and regular document. I am discussing this problem upstream:
