For websites with an existing feed mechanism (RSS, ATOM, personal Tumblr sites, etc.), new-work should use the feed directly.

This may require differentiating between an artist's site (e.g. the domain root) and a separate URL to check for updates (e.g. the feed, the project index page, or the tumblr /archive page).
