In this comment,
@Andhrabharati has provided a version of Benfey's dictionary. It is based on the csl-orig version of ben.txt,
but edited and corrected in various ways.

We should try to benefit from the corrections made; e.g. discover corrections that should be made to csl-orig version.

The editing organizes the text into semantically meaningful units, and could likely be used to generate a more readable
display of the dictionary than the line-by-line version of displays at the Cologne sanskrit-lexicon currently.

Very imaginative. Urge other users to download his file at the above link, become familiar with his markup
conventions, and consider how it may be further used.

Here are my latest version files of BEN-
ben_Main_L2.txt
ben_Addenda.txt

Three entries that were wrongly separated out are properly merged; these can be identified by looking for ; comment lines.

You may like to take the Greek strings from these files, as done in INM sometime back.
[Just be informed that many mergers, deletions and additions were made (wherever felt necessary), so the count of Greek strings in each entry won't match.]
---------------------
Also,

  • The cognate language words are corrected at many places.
  • The ls and ab candidates are marked throughout.
  • Some more corrections were also made in the process.

This finishes my BEN work for now.
