No change made. There is no good way currently in the Cologne dictionaries to handle 'subheadwords'. We have encountered this problem
This has the effect of adding the headwords X, Y, ... to the xxx.xml file, and therefore to the displays. |
There is a negative feeling among the CDSL team about promoting all those to HW level, as done in MW, for reasons best known to them. However, I would just like to ask to have a look at my BUR file under the Devanagari repo once, to have some idea "to handle" them without much hassles. |
It should be done . It is hard to do. |
Burnouf remains a second tier dictionary. Should we spend our limited time on it? |
Recall your asking for inclusion of Skt-Rus. dictionaries sometime back in the CDSL project; do they belong to the "first tier", for Jim to spend his "limited" time on it? It is not the question of which category the specific work belongs to; it is the "usefulness" of it that matters. Anyway, I guess Jim could have a look at my earlier BUR file, to get a simpler idea of "handling" this point (which hardly takes any time). |

hw: zAs
old: the problem is that zAstra (an important word) which should be under that headword -if not having its proper headword-, is not there, but under zAsa (this is absurd). (a mistake in the printing of the book). I would suggest to put at least zAsayAmi as a head word to correct the problem. (I could find zAstra only after looking to the scan and thought it was maybe under zAsa, (even if not logical regarding the meaning of zAsa)).
