Before you begin Phase 0, there are prerequisites that need to be met to ensure you are prepared for the experience. Please make sure to complete each task prior to the start of week 1.
Please note, we assume that each student has at least a week to prepare before entering Phase 0. If you have been admitted and have less than a week before phase 0 begins, we will be happy to work with you. Please make sure you at least complete all of the administrative tasks prior to beginning.
####1. Log on to apply.devbootcamp.com and complete the "End of Prep Survey"
####2. Log in to Socrates* and update your profile with the following:
- Gravatar (this is where we pull your picture so make sure it's of your face!)
- Hacker News
- Google+ We use google+ rather than facebook
- Github
####3. Request to join your Google+ Community. The link will be given to you in your Phase 0 Welcome email. This is vital to success in Phase 0. We communicate with students primarily through the community.
####4. Add the google calendars with the calendars in your google+ community. They are listed under the "About this Community" section on the main page. You should have an office hours/ tutoring calendar and a cohort-specific calendar.
####5. Watch "EQ: Engineering Empathy and Feedback" It's important you watch the whole thing!
####6. Watch "Pairing is Caring"
####7. Watch the "Stypi Tutorial"
####8. Finish reading through the Phase 0 Handbook! You want to be well acquainted with the program!
####1. Complete the DBC Prep Objectives
####2. Review sections from Ruby Labs in Socrates. (This is not intended to teach you everything you need for the exercises, but is meant to be a review of the Prep Objectives)
####3. Complete all 20 Exercises in Socrates. If you are confident with each prep objective on ruby, these should take you around 4-6 hours. If not, it will probably take longer, so give yourself some time. It's important to have basic fundamentals before starting Phase 0.
