How to prevent hidden columns to be deleted upon save?

First of all I would like to thank the creators/maintainers for that fantastic tool.

One thing that is unclear to me is the hide option for columns. Semantically this means just hide a column for view but not ignore it/delete it when saving the file finally.

That misinterpretation lead to a loss of 4 columns for me just now.

How is this meant to be used? Just unhide all hidden columns before saving the file or is there some option to configure? I didn't find anything specific to this.

There is the gv unhide-cols command that you could use. This will unhide all hidden columns on the current sheet.
