Muffintops is a family owned and operated local bakery that offers vegan treats made entirely of fair-trade ingredients. Ellis, the founder, is a proud single mother of twelve kids, who was born and raised in a cult. As she began to doubt her affiliations with the cult, she found respite in the kitchen. During this time, she had plenty of time to perfect her craft and baked for hours on end. Everyone in the compound loved Ellis’s muffins, and she found solace in the joy her delicacies brought to the compound. It gave meaning into her life again, and baking quickly became a passion of hers. After escaping the compound with 10 of her children, Ellis opened Muffintops Vegan Bakery in Katy, TX in 2017 to bring this joy to everyone outside of the cult.
