pkgbuild - USAGE(How to use pkgbuild to make software)
1. Read the README
2. cd /sysbuild/pkgbuild/srcarchive
3. Place the original software in ./srcarchive, using a standard archive format(tar, tar.gz, zip, ...)
##HINT: links http://ftp.sunfreeware.com/ftp/pub/freeware/SOURCES
3. Extract your software to the pkgbuild root(tar -zxvf %yoursoftware.tar.gz -C /sysbuild/pkgbuild)
4. cd /sysbuild/pkgbuild (into the root of pkgbuild)
5. Setup env(. ./SYSENV)
6. Make SYS prefix(mkdir -p ./%yoursoftware%/SYSBUILD/$__OSNAME/$__ARCH/$__RELEASE/BUILDROOT
7. Make SYS configure(mkdir -p ./%yoursoftware%/SYSBUILD/$__OSNAME/$__ARCH/$__RELEASE/CONFIGURE
8. Fix owner/perm & add to svn(pwn ./%yoursoftware%)
9. Commit the add(svn commit -m "initial import - %yoursoftware%" ./%yoursoftware%
12. Determine with SYS prefix you will use(/opt should be used for apps that you want on a seperate slice to protect / from getting filled i.e. apaches log directory is normally under the app dir, /usr/local should be used for apps that arn't going to fill up / i.e. most utilities, and only daemons whos content and logs will reside on a different slice)
13. export DESTDIR=/sysbuild/pkgbuild/%yoursoftware%/SYSBUILD/$__OSNAME/$__ARCH/$__RELEASE/BUILDROOT
14. cd /sysbuild/pkgbuild/%yoursoftware%/SYSBUILD/$__OSNAME/$__ARCH/$__RELEASE/CONFIGURE
15. run make -v, ensuring the make in you path is GNU.
16. RUN configure RELATIVE TO CONFIGURE DIRECTORY, using either /opt or /usr/local as your prefix '(../../../../../configure --prefix=/usr/local||../../../../../configure --prefix=/opt)' + whatever other options your build requires. ##IF YOU ARN'T USING GNU make THIS TYPE OF MAKE WILL FAIL!!##
17. RUN all your softwares 'make;make install DESTDIR="${DESTDIR}";...' cmds from the CONFIGURE directory as well. This style of building is REQUIRED when you are doing multiple architecture builds, and keeps the source directory clean.
- When your happy with the build, correct perms/owner and add to svn(cd /sysbuild/pkgbuild/%yoursoftware%;pwn .), and then commit to svn(cd %yoursoftware%;svn commit -m "%yoursoftware% ${__OSNAME} ${__ARCH} build")
