Many pages on the site somehow manage to be simultaneously fairly "heavy" looking whilst also containing quite a lot of whitespace. This is likely because of the use of very thick header text in many places and a liberal usage of large blocks of saturated colour.

Designs like this can come across as being moody and oppressive, which is naturally not the impression we wish to convey.

Potential remediations include:

  • Using lighter font weights.
  • Introducing more intermediate or light shades to the design.
  • Removing unnecessary colour blocks (e.g. meet cards that have no images on them).
