Change the settings directly on the settings file

Hi,

I suggested for Tasker integration in another topic that would allow me to change the settings programmatically, however changing the preferences XML file would also be a possibility for me as well, however, if I change the lock screen text, it will not immediately change it in the lock screen and if I go to AOSPMods app it seems it's not reading from the file with my recent change as well.
However it might change the text some hours later, but I need it to be instant (i'm trying to put custom battery stats in the lock screen so i need them up to date)

Is there any command/setting i could use or that triggers AOSPmods to apply the changes? an Intent or shell command would work for me since I'm trying to change it via Tasker.

I'm editing sh.siava.AOPSMods_preferences.xml in data/user_de/sh.siava.AOSPMods/shared_prefs/

What kind of battery information you need? We already have charging information in AOSPMods for lockscreen

Hi,

Basically I collect battery stats via Tasker, for example, screen on time (SOT) from the battery section of logcat, total call time since last full charge and current percent loss percent per hour (on and off screen). Currently they are shown in a notification, but would like to have it has a silent notification (not visible on lock screen) and show at least the SOT in the lock screen

From my experience, the text doesn't require systemUI reboot. So it depends solely on how the tasker can put the text and save it. Maybe investigate that part. There are other apps like automagic as well, as I wrote on your previous discussion board

Thanks for your interest in this topic, just editing the file XML (with a text editor) saving, and opening AOSPMod the lock screen text (which I edited) will not appear in the lock screen dialog (still the old text) maybe it's due some sort of settings cache? Anyway we would still need some command to make ASPOMods apply the changed text
