Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
The tildes and buffer name in the sidebar window are unsightly.

Describe the solution you'd like
The window should look like the one from nvim-tree, which is pretty clean looking.

we have some improvements planned on that part of the code, but what you can do right now is hide the statusline for the sidebar with

sidebar.setup({
  ...
  hide_statusline = true,
  ...
})

I will keep this open until we have time to work on that. Thanks for the suggestion
