Working with templates
Siptrack templates can be used to set default attributes on devices. You can create templates that are only used for inheritance or only used for device creation.
Templates have attributes of their own but only the attributes under Template Rules are inherited down to other devices or templates.
Inheritance searches up in the Device tree, so when creating a template you can always select any templates above that category to inherit from.
For example you can make sure each server created with the Linux server template has a local admin account called admin. By clicking on Add rule and Password.
Adding regular attributes you can mark them as important to display them in the device summary.
Then when a device is created these rules will all be applied from top to bottom.
Attribute rules might require input at device creation.
