Hello! I’m getting deeply involved with SOFA simulation to develop training programs for laparoscopic surgery. The tutorials are fantastic, and the plugins, especially QTetraMesher, have been very useful. However, when it comes to medical simulations, one feature I find absolutely essential is the ability to tear tetrahedral meshes, like pulling chunks of tissue from an organ. This is a critical process in laparoscopic medical simulations that I’ve observed.
Currently, I’m working with LapGym and attempting to re-create certain simulation processes, but the tearing feature for these types of objects is the one aspect I haven’t been able to figure out yet. From what I’ve researched, I haven’t come across anyone who has implemented it effectively. This is the feature I would most like to see developed. If there is anybody that has already figured this out please let me know.
