This seems like a bug from Apple according to this blog post.

Anyway, I have updated this project using Xcode 8 and Swift 3, it works on my mac running macOS Sierra 10.12. Check it out here.

Not sure if there is a need to create a pull request.

Its working fine you needs to set the correct date and save it.
