As [discussed] (https://github.com/solid/team/blob/main/meetings/2022-01-12.md) this should be writable by Solid Team members but not anyone else and should be publicly readable. |
Why on earth not use a pod? |
Or part of a pod? |
It can be "FTP-like" in that team members will be able to put stuff in it, and public will be able to view it. We could set up a mount of a separate bit of cloud with costs which may be better cost structure for large media than our normal pod service. Whatever it is it should be running the solid protocol, not FTP, please. |
I'm holding out for Z39.50. WAIS forever! |
From @theRealImy
There are no reason to not use a pod.
|
Is this still a priority for the team? |
Theoretically yes -> we wanted to store some learning videos (which are now on personal people's drop boxes) and the Solid World presenter's slide for people to call them up when needed. |
This would be solved with the completion of #3 as we could just put the videos on the Solid Pod. |
For some reason the Solid Pod was not a viable option - maybe upload limit... not sure what the reason was anymore. |
