Quality image when changing FOV on Logitech Mx brio

I would like to ask if the change of the FOV in the MX brio makes a real FOV change like the Logitech software on windows does, or if it just use some tricks that lower the image quality (e.g. crop…)

so my question is basically if the change of the FOV results in the same image quality of the Logitech software on windows, or it lower the quality
