Django Girls is a global, non-profit organization and a community that empowers and helps women to organize free, one-day programming workshops by providing tools, resources and support. We are a volunteer-run organization with hundreds of people contributing to bring more amazing women into the world of technology. We are making technology more approachable by creating resources designed with empathy.
Our current focus is ensuring our workshops can be organized and delivered remotely. Due to the global pandemic, all in-person workshops have been on hold since March 2020. While we cannot predict the future, we want to ensure that Django Girls workshops can continue to support women to take their first steps in programming, while still ensuring the ongoing safety of our organizers, volunteers and participants.
Any funding received will go towards:
- Staffing costs for our Awesomeness Ambassador & Fundraising Coordinator β€οΈ π¦ π§ β¨ πΈ
- Ensuring our workshop materials and guidance continues to be accessible to all while being delivered remotely π π π π
- Extending participant's learning experiences by producing additional workshop materials π»
- Ensuring our systems and processes are inclusive and anti-racist β β β β
- Setting up a merchandise shop with vouchers to subsidise costs for developing countries π
