I just updated to 3.2.0.

Many settings were wiped out.
For instance...

  • Many Advanced Settings such as Show Recents
  • The miyoogamelist.xml had to be used again. (all my games were showing the (info) again).
  • I highly edited the Cosy theme (the config and many images) and the updated completely replaced those.
  • Some RA settings I changed but not all. For instance, I completely set up my own hotkeys and those were wiped out. In addition, stuff like "combine save state settings into submenu" option was reset. Achievements were disabled yet it kept my login info.
  • Any custom input bindings. For instance, completely wiped out my NES bindings back to default.

Just wanted to bring this up to your attention!

Thank you.

How did you update your version of Spruce? A lot of these would be completely untouched by our update process, and most of them are backed up and restored during.

You could also check your backup files, located in Saves/spruce/backups and see if they just got out of sequence. (Assuming you've used our updater to update, it generates a backup prior to updating).

The Cozy theme thing though, that's somewhat on purpose, since this is a default spruce theme we update it as well, when we add new apps or things we update those included themes. If you want to keep changes rename that folder the in the Themes folder to something else. ThemeUnpacker will only affect them with the same name.

@XanXic - Heya,

I updated via the Spruce updater.
I checked the backups and I see my "old" settings in there.

I wonder if the reset of the RetroArch hotkeys and core inputs are in any way connected to the option to reset all RA hotkeys in Advance Settings?

And good tip for the folder name change. Thank you!
Luckily I always keep backups so just copied my modified Cozy. (made icons and text a little smaller, an actual volume icon with number, little bit cleaner selection images)

If you want, I could downgrade, make some setting changes, then go back to the upgrade?
Just don't know how to downgrade.

@XanXic - Wanted to update.

After messing with it for a couple of days, I'm thinking the only RA settings that got reset are the hotkeys themselves.
Even in the hotkey menu, it had my custom delay, menu key combination, etc.

Just the actual keys themselves were reset (ff, rewind, etc).
Well, along with the settings outside of RA (Spruce settings).

Hope it helps!
