Extreme Lag in Retroarch Menus

I'm attempting to change Retroarch settings for the Star Wars arcade game of 1983, as the laser sight aim moves too slowly on default settings. However, after pressing the home key and entering Retroarch, I'm unable to navigate through any settings and experiencing extreme lag. I'm running the latest version of Spruce using a good SD card. Entering Retroarch from the App menu also results in extreme lag. Hope you can help! Thanks for all the great work you are all doing.

Try reinstalling spruce. This is very odd behavior.
