I had in mind 1/8" mono or maybe stereo to include "utility" power.

A half way jack might be hard, better to just use a switch

braided cables are back in style, so it's easy to get 1/8" patch cables.. even trrs

Got some 1/8” jacks. No halfway inserted switches though, will just use a switch for mode.
