E2E encryption makes decentralization somewhat less useful. We would not be able to censor someone based on what they are saying, because only the intended recipients are able to read their posts.
Where decentralization is useful is durability of data & user autonomy. Meaning that if the prover (us) goes offline, is your data still accessible? Under the hood we are using IPFS, so it should be possible to simply backup everything on a local node. This is a rabbit hole — non-trivial to implement.
We don't want to be holding people's data hostage.
