Videos in portrait ratio doesn't fill screen

I have uploaded some videos with portrait aspect ratio to peertube. Usually, these videos fill the entire screen when watching from my phone. However, in the Thorium app, it only covers a fraction of the screen. I believe this is because Thorium assume that all videos has the 16:9 aspect ratio.
