On the STAC Working Session today, we started creating a new list of STAC FAQs. One that came up was:

Which backend should I choose for stac-fastapi?

We thought this was a good question, but not necessarily for the stac-spec itself. Is there a place in the stac-fastapi readme/documentation that this question (and maybe a few more gathered by stac-fastapi maintainers) could live?

IMO the stac-fastapi README would be a good place for this information.

Alternatively, a ecosystem-wide writeup about the tooling could be appropriate ... it could answer this question, and other questions like "what's the difference between pystac and pystac-client", "should I use stac-server or stac-fastapi?", etc. I'm not quite sure where that should live -- maybe the stac-utils organization's profile page? Or just a blog post?
