Bug - Only "Help" button works

I downloaded demohelper, and when I run the exe all that happens is when I click a color bubble appears where I clicked, and a left/right indicator in the bottom right shows. When I go to the overflow menu and right click on demohelper's icon I get some options, but "help" is the only one that does anything. I want to use demohelper for its annotations, but I'm not able to enter drawing mode, or even open the options menu
