No cache-control header set?

I imagined that the plugin would set a cache-control header, e.g. based on the configured max-age values, but it appears not to. There's no sign of cache-control when I search the source code of the repo, so I don't suppose it's a configuration issue.

Should cache-control not be specified if the plug-in is in fact controlling caching behaviour?
