We have already considered that, we might distribute it through F-Droid in addition to the Google Play store. |
If it is released through F-Droid might I reccomend hosting your own F-Droid repo? That way you wouldn't have to wait for the official F-Droid repo to build your app, and you would have the option of using Github actions or something similar to publish multiple versions of the app automatically, whether it be different arcitechures or beta/alpha/stable versions! |
IzzyOnDroid is also an option. From the users perspective, it sucks to add a separate repository for every app, it also significantly increases the time F-Droid takes to sync, so I would prefer submission to an already existing repo like the offical F-Droid repo or IzzyOnDroid. The latter has the benefit that you can compile the app yourself and submit the update, whereas everything in the official F-Droid repo is compiled by F-Droid, meaning it can sometimes take weeks for an update to be distributed to users |
https://github.com/accrescent/accrescent is also an option. From the users perspective |
I think adding this to accrescent should only be done after it is added to a F-Droid based repo first, regardless of which specific F-Droid repo. Accrescent is not as widely used, and it is less flexible as it does not allow for third party repo support if I remember correctly. |
+1 for Accrescent, it's a really cool project, but it's still in a early alpha stage so it's not really usable at this time F-Droid (Perhaps using a custom repo) seems like a better solution |
Release it on Google play store |
Created a RFP on the F-Droid issue tracker on GitLab: https://gitlab.com/fdroid/rfp/-/issues/2736 |
I know that Strato is in an early stage of development, and that no builds are currently published. But at some point, when it's ready, we might want to consider distributing it through F-Droid instead of Google Play.
