I thought about this and when I implemented range or slider, it didnt find it user friendly. If its a slider, you have to be "precise" to choose the inteded year. And also since we are taking the year from citation as string, putting year as string into the search bar does not really mind in my opinion. But we can talk about this later.
Ok, just one thing to clarify: I was thinking about a "double ended" slider (like the price slider on Alza when you try to select price for example). That way you could select a range of years, not just one year. With the string search, there is not way to select a range at this point, right?
Pretty obvious :) If we have a separate filter for year, we might want to input a range, or just make it an integer selection instead of text.
