Hi David! It appears Extension Manager isn't compatible yet with WP 6.7 because they removed a dependency (the "lodash" script). I'll address it as soon as possible. Thanks for notifying me! |
Next Tuesday I scheduled a patch to fix this, alongside the release of TSF v5.1. |
That’s great. Many thanks.
|
Sybre,
With 5.1 launching tomorrow, is there any chance that you have a timeline now for 5.1.1?
Thank you,
David
|
Hi David, I don't understand why you want to know that. Could you elaborate? |
Hi Sybre,
We’ve built around 10 websites using Bricks and are obligated to perform SEO work for our clients. The clients are panicking at the lack of SEO integration currently.
They are asking us to rebuild all of the sites using Elementor so they can use Yoast. We would much rather stay on Bricks and use TSF.
If I can give them an approximate timeline for a solution using TSF, I think that will go a long way to calming them down.
I’d appreciate any guidance you could provide.
Thank you,
David

Hi David, I understand. So you're referring to the issue sybrew/the-seo-framework#677. I cannot say when that's done. If 5.1.1 needs to be released to fix a critical issue, it will be pushed to 5.1.2. The minor release cycle is relatively short compared to our major one. TSF is fully compatible with Bricks, aside from being able to read its contents. |
Hi Sybre,
Thanks for the reply.
Looking back at my original note to you on 31 October:
I’m having trouble getting TSF to read content that is in Bricks. Are there settings or a process to follow to enable this connection? Apologies if I'm missing something obvious.
You replied with a link to issue #677. So 677 is the issue I’m referring to, but perhaps we got confused.
Currently, our workflow is to copy contents from the rendered HTML into WP editor so that TSF can read the contents (There was a bug in that due to a newer Wordpress release, but I understand you are fixing that with release 5.1.0.)
We then edit that text content to get the SEO score we’re happy with, and then copy the content back into Bricks.
Ultimately, we want to avoid the copy and paste process, so we can edit the content in Bricks and get the SEO guidance needed from TSF.
Is that something you have on the development horizon?
Kind regards,
David

Hi David, You're now communicating via this GitHub issue: #95. But yes, directly detecting Bricks's contents with Focus might be on the horizon for support. However, we cannot directly access Bricks's data store via the default editors. |
Hi Sybre,
To be clear, Issue #95 occurred within WP editor area. Isn't TSF is supposed to be able to read content from WP editor?
As for reading and writing content from Bricks, I understand now that this is something that may or may not be added.
I appreciate you taking the time to communicate with me.
Best regards,
David

Hi David, Yes, TSF is supposed to read that data from WP's editor. It stopped working with last week's launch of WP 6.7, but that was fixed with today's release of Extension Manager v2.7.0. Please note that major releases of WordPress have often broken things since WP 5.0, so it's best to wait for the first or second minor. |
Greetings,
Audit isn't finding the keyword or phrases. Am I missing a detail about how to set this up?
Please see attached screenshots of my content in WP editor and in the TSF box below.
Thank you for any advise you can provide.
Best regards,
David
