Ideas where zoomability helps exploration:

visualize the mass of annual plastic waste
- epa.gov facts and figures
visualize masses of planets and stars
- Wikipedia List of Solar System objects by size
visualize annual sales so that when zoomed in, a month turns into weeks and ultimately weeks turn into days.
- Rossmann Store Sales
- 7 Time Series Datasets for Machine Learning
